Independent Schools: An Intelligent Alternative

Adhering to the highest standards of teaching and offering a variety of schooling choices, independent schools are an alternative for parents who care about the kind and quality of education their child receives.

Independent schools balance academic dedication with a values-oriented community atmosphere which develops morals as well as minds. Most independent schools are college-preparatory and constitute vibrant, diverse intellectual communities.

Welcome to TAIS. We are the Tucson Association of Independent Schools, a five member organization of schools which are (or soon will be) accredited, not-for-profit, independent schools for students in grades K-12.

The Tucson Association of Independent Schools was formed in 2010 as a nonprofit organization serving independent elementary and secondary schools in the state of Arizona. The association welcomes the diversity of 5 member schools with a total enrollment of approximately 1100 students. Basic requirements for membership are incorporation as a not-for-profit institution, accreditation by a recognized accrediting agency, and compliance with Federal and State laws regarding nondiscrimination.
